About Paradise Community Guilds and Norton Buffalo Hall
Paradise Community Guilds
Our vision: "Be the community you want to live in." Our mission: "We foster community by nurturing creativity, practicing stewardship of Nature, and promoting values of sustainability." Our community develops the local culture, the link. We have prepared our institution for various fairs. We are admirers of "the wondrous power of growing things"; champions of organic gardening, permacuture, and the integrity of our food supply; we promote health and wellness; we seek to educate ourselves and our community by offering classes, workshops and presentations; we work to stimulate our local culture through the arts and entertainment... And we do all of this while having fun! We are a member of California Guild, a 501(c)(8) fraternal organization that has evolved to support and advocate for healthy communities, family farms, local economies, cultural diversity, public schools and education, the arts, and a variety of charitable causes. Membership is open to all with a similar vision and spirit. Join us! |
Norton Buffalo Hall is an outreach of
Paradise Community Guilds Our facility takes its name from a much-beloved, adopted son of Paradise, the late Norton Buffalo. Many residents on the Ridge will remember the enormously talented Norton Buffalo, a virtuoso of the chromatic harmonica, multi-instrumentalist, performing songwriter, producer, and actor from the Bay Area who recorded and toured with many of the music industry’s top talents. Buffalo moved to our community in 2005 with his wife and musical partner, Lisa Flores, for what would be the last few years of his life. While he was here, he changed us. The generous spirit in the way he offered his talents, his integrity, and his commitment to make Paradise a better place, all left a mark on us. These things are what our own fellowship is about, and by naming our facility the Norton Buffalo Hall, we honor both him and our community's values.
